This was our first major contract for this national house builder. C Donnelly Construction
was commissioned as the main contractor under the CDM (1997) to construct the roads,
sewers and complete the plotworks up to DPC.
At the start of the contract we undertook
a site clearance to remove the old allotments. This involved working very closely
with the environment agency, as we had to remove scrap metals, contaminated soils,
tyres, asbestos and Japanese Knot Weed.
Once the site clearance was complete we undertook the construction of all the site
roads, including 750mm PCC Pipe and PCC manholes of varying depths and diameters.
Throughout
the site we completed all the plots up to DPC which involved all the hard and soft
landscaping, log retaining walls, house drainage, masonry work, reinforced concrete
foundations and reinforced concrete slabs with a powerfloated finish.
